What are candied nuts (garrapinyades)?

Garrapinyades are a traditional product that combines quality nuts with a sweet, slightly crunchy coating, the result of gentle caramelisation. Caramelised almonds, hazelnuts or walnuts are part of our food culture and are much appreciated for their texture, intense flavour and ability to complement all kinds of menus.

Huge versatility…

Without a doubt, they stand out for their versatility. They can be served as a dessert, as a small treat at celebrations, as part of a special breakfast or as an ingredient in baking and pastry. They are also used to decorate dishes, add texture to salads or give a crunchy touch to desserts.

Their long shelf life and easy storage make them an ideal product for services that need safety, stability and consistent quality.

An ally for energy…

Nutritionally, candied nuts keep all the benefits of nuts. They also provide plant protein, fibre and minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus and zinc. Their caramelised sugar coating adds energy which, eaten in moderation, can be useful on menus that need to provide calories in an enjoyable, easily accepted way.

Our candied nuts are completely handmade and caramelised with whole cane sugar.

PRALINASOL

We are a family working completely independently and by hand, making candied and caramelised products. We emigrated from Argentina in 2006 and since 2007 we have devoted ourselves to this craft through different stages, always with the goal of growing as independent artisans of a traditional trade; our aim has always been excellence in the quality of our products.

Today we have created PRALINASOL, a project that aims to grow by giving new value to these old techniques for caramelising nuts and seeds. We live and work in Vilaller, in the Alta Ribagorça region of the province of Lleida, in the Catalan Pyrenees, Spain.

To make our products we use more than 12 varieties of top-quality nuts and seeds, whole cane sugar and pure water from the mountain valleys…, giving each product a pleasant, intense and original flavour and making them an ideal addition to a wide range of recipes. All our products are free from gluten, lactose, oil, egg and honey, making them suitable for the vast majority of people of all ages.
